IBM launches new cloud infrastructure for U.S. government and defense agencies

IBM announced Tuesday that it will build cloud infrastructure to power government and military agencies.
The move follows IBM’s recent acquisition of Cognizant, which provides technology to commercial cloud providers such as Microsoft and Amazon.
IBM is partnering with Cognizent for the new infrastructure.
The announcement comes as IBM seeks to gain a foothold in the U.K. and other key markets, according to IBM CEO Ginni Rometty.
IBM has recently taken a series of aggressive steps to gain ground in its domestic market, with the acquisition of cloud provider Avid and the acquisition last year of the New York Times’ parent company.IBM is also expanding its cloud computing services for the U, S.A., and Canada.
IBM will soon launch a new service for government use that will offer a new, unified platform for sharing, sharing and sharing more information.
